Wow, TechFest was something.
First, giving the Key Note was an experience completely different from one I've done before. (Which you can watch here) I was insanely nervous that I would mess up, but from the audiences reaction in person and on Twitter, I guess I did okay (; Haha.
I went to three different sessions.
Session One: Literature Circle Blogs with April Baker (Here) She is my teacher so as she supported me I went to support her and make sure she was telling the truth about our blog projects. (; She definitely nailed it! And she bought me a coke mid-day, which makes her like 2 points more awesome.
Session Two: EverNote with Matt Norris (Here) This one was helpful because I've been trying to use Ever Note but couldn't quite figure out the big hype of it. It just seemed like another note taking app. Matt showed all the different uses, especially with his son who is still developing motor skills - so some uses were for improving that which will help me at my internship with Special Ed.
Session Three: Photography in An Elementary School (Here)
I went to this one, hoping to find ideas for my internship. Kay Little did an amazing job and really knows her stuff! Her video about Fritz made my heart melt and I loved listening to her and seeing all the student artwork.

Next on the agenda : Lunch. Lunch was alright. I'm a picky eater, but it was great to have actual well-made sandwiches than school cafeteria type sandwiches.
Next: EdCamp
I wish more people had stayed for this. My session about online programs went well, there were maybe 10 of us. It was interesting to watch everyone bounce off ideas of each other. I was really bummed the second one got cancelled because people left, I wanted to see the iPad apps in special education. (If you have any ideas comment!!)
Overall:
It was awesome. The kids helping out from West Hills were nice, the student showcase looked awesome, and good presenters were picked for the sessions. I met so many new people (12 new twitter followers! LOL) and I hope to join in it again next year!
